Sit with the passage

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Genesis 22:2 · KJV

This is the hardest passage in Abraham's story. God asks for the thing that cost the most — the child of promise, the proof that God keeps his word. We do not fully understand it. But what we see is this: Abraham went. He did not understand, but he trusted. And on the mountain, God provided. Surrender is not the end of the story. It is often where the story truly begins.

Read it slowly. Then read it again. Notice which word or phrase stays with you.
