About this app
Finding Myself is not a course to complete or a system to master. It is a quiet space to return to — a place where Scripture, honest questions, and unhurried silence can do what they have always done.
The philosophy
I am not trying to find myself apart from God.
I am discovering who I am as I walk with Him.
There is a version of self-discovery that treats God as optional — a resource to consult when other methods fail. This app is not that.
There is also a version of faith that treats the self as irrelevant — as though knowing God means erasing your own story, desires, and questions. This app is not that either.
The premise here is simpler: that you are a person God made, and that walking closely with Him is the most honest path to understanding who that person is. Not through introspection alone. Not through doctrine alone. Through relationship.
The method
Every reflection in this app follows the same four movements. They are not steps in a formula — they are postures. Ways of showing up.
READ
Not to analyze it. Not to extract a lesson. Simply to receive it. Read slowly. Read twice. Let a word or phrase stay with you without forcing it to mean something yet.
ASK
God is not threatened by your questions. The Psalms are full of them. This step is an invitation to stop performing certainty and start being honest — about what you believe, what you doubt, what you are carrying.
LISTEN
Two minutes of silence. That is all. Not meditation in the Eastern sense — simply the deliberate act of stopping long enough to notice. This app will not tell you what God said. That space belongs to you.
WALK
Not a resolution. Not a transformation. One small, concrete thing — something to do, release, or hold differently today. Faith that does not move is not yet faith. It is only agreement.
What this is — and is not
Finding Myself is not a substitute for community, sacrament, or spiritual direction. If you are part of a faith community, this app is meant to complement that — not replace it.
Reflection is good. But if you are carrying something heavy — grief, trauma, mental health struggles — please seek the support of a qualified counselor or therapist. This app is not equipped for that work.
The passages and reflections here are drawn from the Christian tradition, but this app does not represent any denomination or theological position. You are welcome to bring your own tradition to what you find here.
Everything you write in this app is stored only on your device. Nothing is transmitted, analyzed, or stored on any server. Your journal is yours.
